I am running into a situation where a user has been deleted, but the mailbox still shows up. Ive started and finished the mailbox management process, and the mailbox is still there

Anybody change the Deleted Mailbox Retention period lately? Has the backup being running properly? (In case you've selected not to purge mailboxes until a good backup has taken place)

Do one thing.. Right click on the mailbox store and run clean up agent.
Now, if you see a red X Mark on the user's mailbox, that shows that the mailbox still exists and the mailbox management was not correctly performed.
If you see a red X Mark, right click on the user's mailbox and click on Purge.
You will not see the mailbox there anymore !!
In case the Mailbox management process was not performed in the right way, right click on the mailbox and try removing exchange attributes.

If you go into system manager and see the mailbox there with a red x through it, just right click and purge it.
