I had a [mostly] successful DAG switch-over test. Following Microsoft's Exchange 2010 Datacenter Switchover Troubleshooter PPTX, it never suggested activating the databases at the passive site before proceeding with any DAG steps. I hope is to confirm if all databases are in healthy state and can be mounted in the passive site.

When completing a controlled \ manual switchover, do you know of any advantages or disadvantages of activating all databases in the passive site before proceeding with stopping the DAG. It seems like a logical step but my gut tells me this is a bad idea since I cannot find any documentation or recommendations about activating the databases in the new site as the first step.

Thank you much.

Rusty

Peace
