    Hey All,

We've been strugling with this for a while now.  We want to allow emails to be 100MB in size (including attachments), whether we're sending or receiving them, for the entire Exchange server.  Where can we set this up?  We've tried a few cmdlets to fix the problems but we continue to get emails bouncing back saying the size was too large.

Hello,

Have you checked the send and receive connectors?  They have size limitations on them as well.

Bob

No I have not, where are they located?  I found the receive connectors, but not the send.

The send connectors are under Organization Configuration --> Hub Transport.

You view them with running: Get-SendConnector | Format-List. Run this on your Hub Transport & Edge Transport (if any).

Just as an aside... you will find many sites will not accept email of that size. Email is a very poor file transfer system. If you are regularly moving files of that size you may want to look for something else to do the work.

For places to check for restrictions, also check any AV or antispam software, firewalls etc. Anything that the message passes through.

Simon.

Ok great, thanks!
I started to notice the size issues as well.  Just yesterday our Barracuda had a latency of about 3 hours due to only a few larger messages.

What would be the best alternative?  FTP?

If it is a regular thing then FTP might be a good option. I also have a few clients using the large file services like YouSendIT and the like. Ideally find one that is located in your country for speed of use.

Simon.
