Hello everyone.

I have a strange problem that occured on 3 mailboxes with the similar symptoms.

The first user was accessing his mailbox via Outlook Web Access and he created many subfolders inside. Today he decided to use Thunderbird and he configured an IMAP profile. After this action the messages in the inbox were dissappeared. He noticed that the messages inside the subfolders were not dissappeated and he could access them. Then, he logged to Outlook Web Access and he noticed the same problem (inbox messages dissappeared and subfolder messages were ok).

The second user was using the Outlook Web Access system and when she opened a message then all the inbox messages dissapeared.

The third user was using Web Mail and he said that he received a notification from the system that his mailbox is about to reach its limit. He read this message and after that the inbox messages dissappeared.

We are running on exchange 2003 server the Symantec Mail Security software for cleaning email viruses.

Any ideas what might be the problem that causes the inbox messages to be dissappeared?

Is this an Exchange 2003 problem? Have you heard about similar incidents?
