I thought that the transition from 2003 to 2007 was going to be fun and exciting!!  Back with more problems!  Everything was working great, I hade two clients on the exchange server 2007 and the rest on 2003.  Everything was coming and going through the internet and the internal network.  Than all of a sudden about 45 messages were in the queue called "Messages queued for deferred delivery"  What is this about?  I had this error in all my NDR's

A configuration error in the e-mail system caused the message to bounce between two servers or to be forwarded between two recipients.  Contact your administrator.
          <smtp.*******.com #5.4.6 smtp;554 5.4.6 Hop count exceeded - possible mail loop>

What was I doing wrong?

Do you have a Send Connector on 2007 server where you have put in 2003 server as a smarthost?
If yes, please remove the smarthost and use DNS settings instead to route the emails.
