I am almost finished migrating all of our mailboxes onto the new Exchange 2007 CCR environment.  This may be a stupid question, but I am assuming that I leave the following mailboxes on the Exchange 2003 server because they are no longer needed by Exchange 2007...basically the 3 system mailboxes.

SystemAttendant
SystemMailbox
SMTP

I just want to make sure that leaving this mailboxes intact will not cause an issue when I uninstall Exchange 2003 from our environment.

Thanks for your hlelp!!!!!

You couldn't move them even if you tried.

If I can't move mailboxes from my 2003 to my 2007 server, due to it not connecting to the legacy mailbox properly, which permissions should I check?

I have already verified that Ineritance is enabled on the stores in 2003.

I am using Exchange 2007 Spk1.

I have Antigen installed on the 2003 side and Forefront on the 2007 side.  My similar test environment moves mailboxes just fine with everything running.

It almost has to be a permission issue, but I am using the Domain Administrator account on the 2007 server and both exchange servers belong to the same Domain.  I'm pretty sure I added the Administrator account to the Exchange Organization Adminitrators Group.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION:

Upon further scrutiny to the problem of moving maiboxes in a mixed 2003 and 2007 environment, I found that the error message pertained to problems opening the 2007 mailbox that Exchange was trying to create during the move operation.

I decided to create another storage group and mailbox database on the 2007 server and see if I could perform a move-mailbox from database to database on the same server rather than server to server.

It worked just fine, AND, I can now move mailboxes from the 2003 server to the 2007 server that I couldn't before.

The intra-server move must have caused something to unblock the process.

Interesting...
