Hello,

I am trying to move the data in 3 public folders from an Exchange 2007 server to a new virtual 2007 server. The replication appears to have been successful but everything still appears to be pointing to the original server and thus I can't remove it from service. As I am relatively new to Exchange I am not sure if I am missing something or unaware of a step. I would greatly appreciate any leads or suggestions on this.

Thanks,

Use: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb331970(EXCHG.80).aspx to replace the replicas from one server to another.

That is the exact posting that I followed but I am still unable to dismount the original Public Folder database. As soon as I do Public folders are no longer accessible. Is there something that tells Outlook clients where to look for the Public Folder database/store that needs to change or should replacing/moving the replicas do that?

Did you go to the properties of the mailbox store and change the home PF?

That is a negative. I knew it was something simple. I think that did the trick. Thanks much!

One follow up on this. Eventually I want to remove the old server from service. I have already moved all the user mailboxes to the new server and once I get the public folders finalized I should be able to decommission the old server correct? The article that I assume I have to follow is http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927464 (How to remove Exchange 2007 from a computer).
