Okay.. We tried to stay away from ActiveSync but Exec's are starting to buy the phones and want access to email.  So we got some of the new Iphone 3Gs and set up ActiveSync..  My partner has been able to successfully get his to work however mine gets a authentication failure when setting it up.  The CAS logs show an error stating that the device is misconfigured.  This device has never successfully connected to the server.  I've tried reseting the device but still can't get it to work.   Any help would be great.

Well we worked thru this and got it working.  Seems the solution was in one of the previous posts.    I didn't explain out configuration too well so just to be clear here's our Exchange config.   We have two data centers North and South.  In each center we have a mail store, a CAS and Hub Transport.  In the South we have a Lotus Notes Server acting as our outside facing server.  The mail comes in thru the Lotus Notes server and then to our internal Lotus Notes Servers.  We have forwarders set in the lotus servers which then forwards over to an internal Edge server then it seems to the South HTCAS server and then to the North NTCAS.  I say "seems" because when the South HTCAS server isn't working the North server doesn't get any mail.  We hadn't figured out what was going on until we read one of the posts here.

Anyway.. seems we had not set up our security right for the mobile client to work in the North as well as having an external URL set up on the North server.  After removing and correcting those items my new iphone is working.

Though no direct replies to this post, I appreciate the posting here in the forum.  Seems like a great resource for everyone.
