In trying to activate Instant Messaging on my Server (running Exchange Server 2000), I discovered that the Exchange System Manager doesn�t possess the Instant Messaging (RVP) Protocol in the physical server that hosts exchange. The only protocols present are HTTP, IMAP4, NNTP, POP3, SMTP and X.400.

How do I install this protocol?

Hi,

You must start exchange setup program and choose to install the Exchange Instant Messaging Service.

Remember also to reapply the appropiate service pack.
