Found the source of the error
'Disable MAPI Clients=-6.0.0;7.0.0-10.0.6514' on the SourceServer is set

http://support.microsoft.com/Default.aspx?kbid=288894 needs a update, Exchange 2007 use MAPI v8.x

Hi,
I need some more information on this to give you the best solution to this issue you are having. Can you check and let me know theoutlook version you are using and also let me know when exactly you are getting this issue.
This issue could have a fix on it and I can probably direct you to that if you can give me some more light on this issue.

Hey Olsen,
Good question to bring to the forum, I encourage you to come up with more such scenarios so that we all can do more such research and come up with winning ideas.

As far as the error you are facing. Please go ahead and try the following.
You can check this on the Exchange 2003 server using ADSI-Edit (or
using ESM in the same way with Security enabled, but ignoring step 1):

     1) Expand Configuration – Services – Microsoft Exchange – DIP – Administrative
Groups – First Administrative Group – Servers – SVRDIP
    2) Right-click and select properties, then the Security tab
    3) Click Advanced at the bottom and make sure that the checkbox to allow
inheritable permissions to propagate has been selected
    4) Make sure that this is the case on all mailbox stores on that server

5) Go ahead and restart the store service after you have done this.

Let me know if this worked for you.

thanks

Hi Geeksneak,

I tried this but didn't worlk for me.
I amd trying to move Exchange 2003 mailbox to exchange 2007 mailbox using the wizard, and tried it from both servers. I get following error:
Summary: 1 item(s). 0 succeeded, 1 failed.
Elapsed time: 00:00:01

test user
Failed
Error:
Error was found for test user (test@benelux.local) because: Error occurred in the step: Opening source mailbox. Failed to open mailbox with error: The operation failed., error code: -1056749262

I used the administrator account which holds following roles:
Account operators
Administrators
Domain Admins
Domain Users
Enterprise Admins
Exchange Domain Servers
Exchange Organization Administrators
Schema Admins

I also checked Olson's sollution by checking the registry on the Exchange 2003 server but there was no reg. key saying "disable MAPI......."

Any other ideas????

Kind regards
Richard

Hello everyone,

Just for the record I get the same error as Olsen and Geeksneak while trying to move mailboxes as part of transition to exchange 2007 from exchange 2003.

I tried a number of workarounds. No luck yet. I am unable to move any mailboxes at all.

Is there anyone out there with the solution to this problem?

Edin
