I'm planning in moving a clients Exchange 2007 box to new hardware following the guide here

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb332341(EXCHG.80).aspx

and I'm wondering if anyone has ever used this method to upgrade hardware while keeping the same domain name and if there are any issues to watch out for in the upgrade process.

Thanks.

When you say download from Microsoft, do you mean the MVLS site? If so, there is never a serial number to input that I've ever seen, it is always embedded in the media.

Great article...never saw that before. It seems fairly straight forward...but I don't have expierience doing that.

As for the license...we get our key from the volume license center. The media is irrelevant for us...we just install off the SP3 installer then have the 120 days to input a key.
