I am having a problem setting up resource mailboxes in our organization and can't find any help on this subject. I have a single domain, single Exchange 5.5 server setup. We have 2 DC's - exchange 5.5 box is separate. I am trying to set up meeting room resources so that users can automatically book meeting rooms when they try to schedule a meeting. I have created 5 user accounts for my 5 meeting rooms. I logged into these accounts and configured Outlook profiles for each mailbox. I also sent a mail to ensure that the mailboxes were fully enabled (they were). My problem is when i try to schedule a meeting for any of the 5 meeting rooms I am seeing the message "No information. No free/busy information could be retrieved." This is displayed when I hover my mouse over the status bar under scheduling tab in the outlook calendar. I have seen a similar question to this asked many times on the Internet but have seen no answers that suit my case so any help would be very appreciated. Thanks in advance

Did you ever find a solution for this? I too am having the same problem, and can't find a solution. Every post/HowTo I read has the exact same steps I performed, yet our server (Exchange 2003) does not work. Any ideas? anyone? Bueller? --kp

I am still having the problem. None of the things I tried on these various forums worked. If you come across a solution, please fill me in.

Will do. I know it's something stupid (or silly if you don't like the word stupid) that we're missing, as this is a common feature that I've used at past jobs, though I didn't set them up. anyone else have this issue or a solution? --k

ok, thinking I may have set this up incorrectly, I deleted my conference room, and followed the steps on this page: http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/MF019.html and still, my conference room (resource) shows as no information within my outlook account. We have exchange 2003, and I'm using outlook 2007. I had a couple of my users, who use outlook 2000 and 2003 take a peek and same thing, No information. It appears that the "Automatic accepting of events" is not working. Does the resource need to be set up within a specific version of Outlook? I know this is possible, as this site has a write-up, though I can't get it to work. Any ideas? --kevin

doing some more digging, I found this article on MS's site. In order to get the resources to work properly, do we need to install this agent? http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997184.aspx Out of all the pages that lists the steps needed to get resources set up, this is the first time I've seen this "need to install the Auto Agent". Any insight would be appreciated. --kp

I had a similar issue with getting Auto-Accept to work properly after migrating a Room from Notes to Exchange 2007. I ultimately had to use the following command in the Exchange PowerShell: Get-Mailbox | where {$_.ResourceType -eq "Room"} | Set-MailboxCalendarSettings -AutomateProcessing:AutoAccept Cut and Pasting this will AutoAccept all Rooms. You can get more specific by modifying the $_.ResourceType expression to something more specific to the Resource, such as it's name, but cannot tell you what the $_.<variable> would be. Good luck, Dave

Hi All, I think I've figured this one out. Following all the steps of all the tutorials - you then need to put an appointment in the Calendar of the resource room for it to generate Free/Busy times. It will work even if this "dummy" appointment is in the past. Hope this helps.
