I support an Exchange 2007 environment, up until a few weeks ago it was running SP1 but has now been upgraded to SP3 with latest rollup.

For a long time, I've never been able to get ANY of the hub transport rules to work, including the ones that have been in place for more than 2 years as well as any new ones that I create. I'm aware there's usually up to a 4 hour wait after creating new rules, but even after waiting over night nothing happens.

At the moment there are 2 rules that have been in place for over 2 years, and one that I have been trying to get working for the past few weeks.

The older rules are:
1. "redirect all mail sent to service.desk@oldITprovider.com to service.desk@newITprovider.com" - this means if anyone inside the organisation tries to email the old IT provider's service desk, the email is redirected to the new IT providers email address. This doesn't work, and hasn't worked in a very long time, mail still goes to service.desk@oldITprovider.com.

2. Block all mail received from fred.smith@hotmail.com - silently drop any email received from this person to anybody in the organisation. This also doesn't work.

The new rule I'm trying to create is "redirect all email received from no-reply@test.com sent to anyone inside our organisation to a mailbox named "abc-catchall@mydomain.com". This doesn't work and any email from no-reply@test.com (which is an address outside our organisation) will just be delivered to whoever it was addressed to, rather than being redirected like it should.

No matter what I do, none of these rules will take effect. I'm starting to pull my hair out, and all the links in Google and Bing are purple - I've tried almost everything I can find.

Is there something I can do to try and troubleshoot why these rules aren't behaving? I can understand if it was just one of the rules not working but I can't get any of them to work.

I would appreciate any assistance, thanks in advance if you can help!
