Hi,

We have installed Exchange 2007 enterprise version with Edge Server. All is working well, even Active Sync is working well. So basically the setup is done perfectly.

But since we have deployed exchange we are not able to send mails to some of the domains like tvcabo.co.mz, aol.com, lam.co.mz.

We have tried doing all the major task, even configure the reverse proxy, already talked with the ISP to put the reverse proxy and they have done it. But still we are not able to send mail.

All the mails stay at the edge server with this error:

Last error on domain : 541 4.4.0 Primary traget IP address responded with : "421 4.4.2 Connection dropped." Attempted failover to alrernate host, but that did not succeed. Either there are no alternate host, or delivery failed to all alternate hosts.

Last Error on mail properties : 421 4.4.2 Connection dropped

We are not understanding what we can do more. If any one have an idea to solve this issue please assist. I will appreciate your effort.

Thanks and Regards
B Patel.

We had exactly the same problem on some domains. It looked as a "broken pipelining" problem, due to our proxy server. The smtp command "354 go ahead" from the other party to initiate the transmission of the data did not reach our server through our proxy gateway.
Look in the send transportlogs. We had the choice to either install ISA server as a gateway or define another send connector for the unreachable domains.
We configured a new send connector for these domains and forwarded the mail to the mailserver of our ISP.
all is going smoothly now.

I have configured a new send connector for those domains and forwarded the mail to the mail server of our ISP. But still not working.

Just to confirm if i am doing right.

1. Given the domain names which i am not able to send on Address Space.
2. On the Network given the Mail Server IP of our ISP, and even the domain of our ISP.
3. On the Source I have provided our AD server.

Can you please suggest / comments if i am doing write or something missing.

B Patel.

Check the following:
Address space: domain names of unreachable domains: unreachable.com
Network: Route mail through smarthost: enter ip-address of mailserver of isp, (i did not check external dns)
source server: should be the name of the exchange server, enter it by browsing

that should do the job. if you succeed or not please reply

Hello,

try to Use another DNS Server in Your Router, or Server...

That's a Problem with DNS Binding to the Target-Domain and There's MX-Resolver by your ISP.

Example: OpenDNS (208.67.222.222. or 208.67.220.220).

The reason behind this is that Exchange is not configured correctly for MX entries.

Run the Exchange Management Tools for more help.

If trouble still persists, check the Send Connector.
