I'm trying to setup OMA, but I'm getting a generic error when I try to browse the oma page (via IE6), it reads:
"A System error has occurred while processing your request. Please try again. If the problem persists, contact your administrator.
Home"

I have enabled OMA in the Exchange system manager, I believe my directory permissions are good. BTW, OWA works just fine over ssl.

Should OMA work out of the box, if not what configuration needs to happen to get it working?

Technet has very little documentation on exchange 2003 as of yet, so I'm a little lost.
Any help would be appreciated, TIA.

Try this article. We had similar problems with OMA, this resolved the issue. I had a hard time finding this article, too.

Microsoft KB article 817379

Excellent, I can now browse the site although using IE6 and my Palm TungstenC it gives me the "Device type you are using is unsupported" message. I'm assuming some entries in the web.config file need to be added to support the Palm's browser.

So, my question now is, does anyone have info on customizing OMA for unsupported browsers? I'm sure others have wanted to do this... My user agent comes up as:

Mozilla/4.76
(compatible; MSIE 6.0; U; Windows 95; PalmSource; PalmOS; WebPro; Tungsten Proxyless 1.1 320x320x16)

Again, thanks and any help would be greatly appreciated! [Smile]

Hi M S Ashe/M S Ashe,

I have followed the MS article and can now connect on the exchange box only. I cannot connect through any other machine. what am using is https://smtp/ExchDAV. I must be doing something wrong.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi. You have the option to Enable OMA to Unsuport Devices. ExchDAV only works for the Front-End and Back-End Topology, do noy use on a Simple FE topology.

Hi Abraham,

Thanks for your reply, I only have one excange server, therefore am not able to use fe/be.

Would the OMA work with only one exchange? If yes what do i need to do. I have already enabled for unsupported devices.

Thanks again

Steve

Hi,

I have been having problems with OMA. When I attempt to log on, i enter my username and password and it just prompts again - as if access was denied. I have enabled OMA under the users settings and under the exchange system manager.

Just wondering if this is a problem you have come accross? Any help would be great???

[EDIT:] Ok, ive just fixed this problem - it was because i wasnt entering the domain, and nor was it set to the default. However, im not having the problem that this post was origionally about, but the MS info did not help.

Thanks,
Tim
