Hello , I have just recently setup MS Exchange server 2003 and have enabled OWA. When I type the path to the exchange server in a web browser I am getting an error indicating that there is a problem with this websites security certificate. If I continue the OWA login page appears. Why am i getting this certificate error and how can i stop it from appearing. If you would like to see the error message for yourself you can type the following address. http://165.228.100.203/exchange any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Hi You had enabled the SSL security on the OWA, which needs a SSL certificate. And the Certificate should match the name by which you are accessing the OWA site. So just register a name for OWA and assign a certificate to it. Or remove the SSL security.

You have to select a name like https://mail.mycompany.com and have to register with the ISP with a Public IP address and then NAT it on your firewall. And you have to use IIS to install the certificate. You can also remove the existing certificate, by clicking on the Default site-> properties.

Hi, I have a similar problem and get the certificate error when I try to access Outlook Web Access. I dont know much about this, how exactly do I install or enable a certificate and get rid of the error? Can someone please explain how to do this or direct me to a good tutorial or website that explains this? I haven't really studied all of the server information yet, and what I know was either self thought or from other people or online, so please explaine step-by-step what I need to do. I would be very thankful. Jugal, you said it can be installed using IIS, how?

Hi Adren, http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/SSL_Enabling_OWA_2003.html Follow the link and you will get the details of enabling and deleteing the certificate from IIS and Certificate Authority (CA).

Hi thanks for the information. This is the situation that I currently have. Server running windows SBS 2003 and exchange server 2003. The server is running on a local netowrk and the server name is NOT a FQDN. There are two organisations using this server. These two organisations do have public domain names registered. For this post I will call them DomainA.com.au and DomainB.com.au. If I am going to register the domain name with the ISP and point it to the Exchange server then which domain do i use, DomainA or DomainB. Or does it matter which one I choose. If I register DomainA , will the users in DomainB be able to use OWA to get there email. At the moment OWA is working for both domains except for the certificate error that keeps showing up. The other question that I have is does it matter what the server name is in this case or will it need to be changed to reflect the FQDN of domain A or B. I look forward ot your reply.
