Hi,
We have Exchange 2007 SP1 with Server 2003 x64 on backend mail/hub server & CAS server, both fully up to date patch wise.
When accessing OWA (using forms based auth) the user can log in but within 5 seconds or as soon as they click on an email they get returned to the login page. I have checked all settings and everything seems fine. Nothing out of the ordinary in the event logs either.
Am beginning to suspect it may be an IIS error. On the CAS server there does seem to be a lot of W3WP.exe processes running.

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what to investigate?

Only fix for this was to remove IIS & re-install, then remove CAS role and re-install.
W3WP.exe process instances have gone from 10 to around 4 consuming much less memory.
