Hi
I have trouble logging my users on OWA.
The exchange 2000 reside on a domain controller.
administrators can log on other users can't.
Here is what I have checked: user have logon locally right (through DC Policy) Http protocol is enabled(advanced exchange features) If I add user in domain admin OWA works fine.
Here is what happens: When I try to log on as a user, instead of going to the users folder it prompts me for credentials again. This happens on http://server\exchange and server\exchange\user
Hope someone can point me in the right direction
best regards
Tim

Hi Henrik
Thanks for the reply
I have allready stepped through the article you recommend.
The administrator can logon on fine.
I believe it is a permission issue somewhere.
I have checked:
Read, Read and Execute and List Folder Contents for the following directories: Winnt\System32 Winnt\System32\Inetsrv Winnt\System32\Wbem Exchsrvr\Bin Exchsrvr\RES
anonymous access on default domain in IIS and Basic authentifacation on exchange folder in IIS.
The server is a small business server and domain controller. The users I have tried to log on with have Logon locally rights givin' through domain controller policy.
When I try to view peermissions on M:\domain\mbx it says: "unable to display security information" (I am logged on as administrator)
Any ideas
Regards
Tim

I am having the same problem. My Admins can get in but the std users cannot. It is also a SBS2k implementation.
in addition to the symptoms described by Tim2341 , I have noticed that the web logs indicate the user authenticating but the mailbox being accessed is the last admins box not the authenticated user. example:
administrator logs in and authenticates with owa. web log contains calls for things like /exchange/administrator/...
user logs in and authenticates with owa. web log contains calls for things like /exchange/administrator/...
not the expected /exchange/user/...
again any ideas would be very appreciated.

I am having the same issue on 2 back end servers. I think the issue is IIS in general. I created a test page, and the same thing occurs. I set the NTFS permissions on the test files and folders to Everyone> Full Control.
Here is the strange part. Once an admin opens the web page (either the test or OWA) regular users can get in as well for a few minutes.

Here is what fixed this problem for me. It was the MIME map setting. Removing the .* entry solved the problem.

Thanks for the posting Lamar, I think I solved my problem. I just going to implement what you have done on MIME settings.
