OWA logon page returns error - 10.Jul.2000 12:08:00 AM

I'm getting allways the error "VBScript Runtime Error '800A01A8' Object Required: 'Application (...)' \exchange\USA\logon.asp, Line12" when I try to login. I have Exchange 5.5 with SP2 on a WinNT4SP5(BDC) computer and I'm trying to install only OWA in another computer WinNT4SP5 with IIS4(BDC). I¦ve done all the procedures listed for this error in Microsoft Technet and set the permissions as explained in that site (Log on locally for all domain users). In the Win NT event viewer, there¦s a message about excfilt.dll). Can anyone help me?

I'm having the same problem. I've tried everything that Microsoft has posted on the Knowledge Base and none of it works.

What the heck is this problem.

Hi.

This can happen if you are setting up OWA on a non-BDC/PDC server, it has to do with user authentication. Try setting IIS up on a BDC and see if that helps.

Regards.

Cully.

Well, I got a little farther on this problem. I reinstalled both SPs for NT and Exchange and now I'm getting a different error.

I'm getting a HTTP 500 error when I go into the web page. Internal Server Error. No matter what I do it's still gives me this error. I don't get anything pertaining to OWA.

What could this be?

Check that domain users have Log on Locally right on the server OWA is installed on. Also check that NT Challenge response on IIS is turned off and that basic authentication is checked. What Sp are you running on exchange? Is the OWA server in the same domain as Exchange?

Let me guess....

The event error is an error reported bij W3SVC, eventID 14. The HTTP filter exchfilt.dll could not be loaded. The data is the error...

This has to do with either corrupt or missing files, incorrect permissions, or a not responsive service.

You might wanna try KB-article Q260204 - XWEB Access denied error when installing Outlook Web Access

As to the questions the others are asking -> OWA is installed on a BDC, with service pack 5
The Exchange-server is running SP2

And he set the user-right so they can log on locally......

Guys, start reading, please.....
