I'm in the last stage of a 2003-2007 Exchange transition, all my Outlook 2003 clients are working flawlessly - Public folders, ActiveSync, etc - all the usual headaches are over with  - but i have one last nagging problem.

My internal domain is domainname.local , in creating the network, I (silly I know) used the now outdated MS recommendation to keep the domain seperate from the internet naming conventions by using .local instead of .org (our internet DN).

The problem I ran into is, in order for ActiveSync to work on my mobile devices, the SSL cert has to be issued / authorized to our FQDN via the internet.  exchange.domainname.org

However, in doing this it causes an annoyance in Outlook 2007, where it prompts the users with a Y/N that the SSL cert is secure however the domain name doesn't match the issued domain on the cert.  The internal clients connect to exchange.domain.local.

Is there a way to set a seperate internally issued cert from an internally trusted CA and use a the external cert for my owa and activesync?

I have exactly the same problem when I upgraded to Exchange 2007 and Outlook 2007.
I also experienced that Outlook 2007 also asks for username and password every time Outlook starts.

Does anyone know what the problem is?
