Can you confirm that this issue is with only one user - 1) Try creating another profile of some other user on the same box. 2) Try creating profile of same user on another box. 3) Run cmdlet test-outlookwebservices | fl on the Exchange box. 4) Run Exchange Best Practice Analyzer tool on Exchange box.

The user logs on to another machine, outlook works fine. Another user logs onto his laptop it works fine. Have checked the Exchange Config....its just this one user, who happens to be my boss. Have suggested renaming his current profile, and getting him to login again on his laptop so a new profile is created, but he is reluctant to do this, and would rather we solved the problem.

No, creating a new profile under Mail in control panel, still have the same issue....as a consequence of this he cannot see the free / busy information when scheduling a meeting.

Free/Busy - offline address book download - out-of-office wont work since the user profile isn't able to talk to Autodiscovery service. quote:
Another user logs onto his laptop it works fine. This means that the box is working fine - there isn't any network communication problems - this only means that there is some profile level corruption. For basic, check if you can resolve and ping the autodiscovery server.
