Does it give you any errors when you try to open it?
Have you tried opening it in safe mode (from run command, type Outlook.exe /Safe)?

Its clear for the info that you have been using the Outlook 2010 before and now you are unable to access. Try starting outlook in the safe mode as it'll prevent various add-ins.

Start-> Run; outlook.exe /safe
Windows Vista and Windows 7
Start-> type; outlook.exe /safe
Windows 8
Start Screen-> type; outlook.exe /safe
(just start typing, a search box will automatically become visible)

When typing, please note the space between outlook.exe and /safe

Your Outlook pst file is corrupted so that you are unable to access your MS Outlook. Try scanpst.exe inbuilt tool for repairing your MS Outlook pst file if it fails to repair your Outlook pst file then use third party tools.
I would advice you to try Kernel for Outlook PST Repair Tool for repairing your pst file successfully.

Download OST to PST **** Toolbox program. Without any damages you can remove all bugs from corrupted OST file and save OST file as PST in seconds: http://www.osttopstconverter.****toolbox.com/ Even if you donít remember previous MAPI setting then Orphaned OST file cannot be open in MS Outlook. In this case convert offline OST file to healthy PST format using a committed OST recovery tool. Because PST file can be easily imported into MS Outlook (POP3 & SMTP) and this is only a safe method to retrieve OST file data. Try given procedure :

#1 - Nothing is ever going to be "replaced" (temporarily or otherwise) when Outlook is open and over-writing a PST file with a different one by the same name is not recommended unless you are restoring a backup of the original (and then Outlook would have to be closed regardless)

#2 - If the PST file is listed in the DataFiles list then it has been added to the profile and should appear in the Navigation pane - just expand the root folder (there should be one for every PST file shown in the Data Files list.

#3 - The obvious indication that it's been "opened" is the sheer fact that it's included in the navigation pane - it's just another PST file with whatever folders were created within it.
