Hi All,

Kindly help shed some light.=)

We have upgraded servers from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013.
All seems well during installation. Have tried migrating 4 users from 2007 exchange database to exchange 2013 and all can access OWA(internal link) except for outlook.

We have not switch to the exchange server yet (DNS records, MX records are still pointing to the old one)

When i try to connect any of the 4 mailboxes migrated, it could not connect to outlook saying exchange needs to be online.

the new exchange server has its self signed certificate and we also installed the SSL cert with the domain name included as SAN.

When it tries to connect to the server, it keeps prompting for the password even when the password keyed in is correct.

Tried installing this update on outlook but got a message that the product is not detected on the machine..http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=2687404

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Jheycie

Hi..

Try the following steps: -

At first close outlook and open up the registry editor (regedit).

It is always a good practice to backup the registry before making changes so to do so select "Computer" at the top of the tree, then click File > Export.

After doing so locate the following key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\Exchange Provider.

Make a String Value (REG_SZ) with the name DS Server and enter the value as the FQDN of your global catalog services domain controller, SAMPLE-DC.DOMAIN.LOCAL.

After that has been done. reopen Microsoft Outlook and run through your profile set up. If finding the global catalog server was the issue, the problem should now be resolved and the email account should now properly add.

You can try third party migration software which can smoothly transfer your Exchange server from 2007 to 2013.More important feature is that it can save data to your live server.

You can try following software
