Have a client running SBS 2003 with SP2 installed.  They are running Exchange with SP2 installed as well.  They do not host their own mail and are using POP3 accounts for their email.

This is a financial institue so all of their mail comes and goes from lpl.com so that it can be journaled. In Exchange we have the POP3 connector set up and all email is pulled in to the users mailbox.  In Outlook they have 2 accounts, one for Exchange and one for POP3 (lpl.com) with the POP3 account set as the primary.

Recently they installed an update to their CRM software (Junxure) that now has an Outlook add-on.  When the client sends an email from within Junxure and adds an attachment to it, the person receiving it gets a winmail.dat attachment.  If we set Outlook to use the Exchange account as the primary and do the same thing, the email and attachment go through just fine.

I have made sure that RTF is turned off both in Outlook and in Exchange.  This is happening to all of the users in the office and I have made sure that all have the same Outlook configuration.

I guess my question is if this is a problem on the LPL.com POP3 server, a problem with the CRM add-on, or a problem on my server.  I am running out of ideas on things to check.

Thanks for any advice.
