my internal domain name is not the same as my external domainname(internal mycompany.net, external mycompany.com)
i want my users to connect to owa when they are insite our network the sameway as when theya re outside our network; owa.mycompany.com
i created a primary not ad integrated dnszone ad my first dnsserver ; the zone is called mycompany.com. In this zone i created a cname for my owa, called owa and pointing (fqdn for target host) to mailserver.mycompany.net
i changed in exchange the internal and ezxternal url into owa.mycompany.com

when i type owa.mycompany.com from my mailserver; it works. when i type it from my dnsserver,isaserver or client, nothing happens(these servers are trying to find the addres on the internet). My company is using a hardwarefirewall and an isa. The hardwarefirewall has no rules for the owa(still needs to be done). My isa has an non ssl publish exchange client acces rule

Hi,

Are the servers/clients looking at the DNS server where you configured it ?
Please also give some more information, which domainname do you use internally ?

A split DNS should be build to get this working. In this case you will create the domain externally used also internally. Then in the dns zone for the external domain on the internal servers create the appropiate records and it should work.

Hi

You can try to create 2 entrys in your host file in the ISA Server, for both internal, and external site, pointing to your internal Exchange IP

This can substitute the split DNS
