Hi.. I would like to query some opinions of best practice for managing staff PST files. I have just take over an I.T Support role and was required to upgrade storage space for the Exchange Database.

I have also standardise staff archiving processes, however the staff Terminal Service into an alternative server where their profiles are stored and of course the standard MS path of where the Archive.PST files are stored by default.

The Terminal Server with the profiles of users and their PST files, will in due time run out of space and i'd be required to upgrade the storage space.

I was wondering, as i have upgraded the Exchange Server and has sufficient storage for a good few years, than i should be the staffs PST files to the Exchange Server *Make a folder for them all*

Whats everyones opinion storaging PST file on Exchange Server environment ?

Kind Regards..

The use of PST files should be on a general decline. There is no support for the storage of PST files over network shares but in TS environments that's largely unavoidable.
On the Exchange server you either get five stores or 50, depending on your Edition (Standard or Enterprise). What edition do you have?
I would create the full five stores and migrate as much of the mail into it, eliminating as many PST files as you can.
