FYI: Create a new .pst file and then import the data from the old .pst file. You won't be prompted for a password, another MS feature.. [Wink]

That didn't work for me. It did ask for a password. I tried .pst files with both encryption types, default and high (I didn't try unencrypted). I wonder if your .pst file is really password protected at all, mayanknt. It's not by default. Right-click for properties on "Personal Folders" then check Advanced... ?

G'day,

I have not used it, but this is a password cracker, if the data is important it is worth the less then $20 you spend, also re-usable if clients have the same issue.

Hope this helps mate

I've seen password crackers out there and none worked for me, I heard that they don't.

psts are locked down.

hmm, well, as usual....10 ways to do something in MS. If there's a will, there's a way.

why doesn't MS just let the admins know of a way to crack a pst? good gravy.

Hi,
There are 2 ways by which you can recover back your Lost PST Password:-

1) Remove the existing password using pst19upg.exe inbuilt utility.

2) You can use Stellar PST Password Recovery Software which can recover back your lost pst password instantly. The tool generates a series of 6 passwords which can be used to serve your purpose.
