I've essentially walked into an organization where the Net Admins have either had little experiance or NONE and have done insane things like, install Exchange Standard under their own account...only to find out that this was done after we removed their accounts.

Outside of ADSIedit, is there something else to do, beside running the Exchange CD and it's forest/domain prep to reset permissions? There are areas in the Program (such as Global Settings in Exchange Manager) where You can set yourself as having full control etc, but can not do anything to set yourself as the owner.  This is even  AFTER removing inherit permissions...  Am I missing something here or am I battleing a dieing battle?

Thanks for anyone with some incite.

Check the security tab on top of ESM, remove anything strange there

save this as .REG on  your workstation and double click on it ( assuming ESM is installed )

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\EXAdmin]

"ShowSecurityPage"=dword:00000001
