Hi All, I wondered if anyone here knew of a way that I could prevent my users from creating (or altering) their OWA signatures? I was hoping there was a setting within System Manager or even a registry tweak? If anyone does manage to get back to me with a potential solution, do you know if this could be applied to a specific group of users, or would it have to be orginisation wide? Cheers Mark

Not possible - at least using native tools. Your best option is to take signatures out of user's control and use something like Exclaimer or Policy Patrol to set the signatures server side and then disable signature support everywhere else. Simon.

Hi Simon, Thanks for your reply. I already use Policy Patrol, and have configured that to add an orginisation signiture and disclaimer at the bottom of all emails. These get sent regardless of whether a user wants them or not! Unfortunately, I have pupils who insist / persist (!) in creating pointless signatures telling their recipients how much they love their best friends and what they are doing over the weekend! A lot of them will have kisses in them, which of course if there is three of them (xxx) will get picked up by policy patrol as a banned keyword, resulting in me having to check and release / delete them!

Get the OWA admin tool from Microsoft. That should allow you to control the signatures. Do ensure that you read the installation instructions as it can be a tricky application to get to work correctly. I often find it works better installed on a workstation with IIS rather than on the server itself. Simon.

Thanks for that Simon. I don't have the admin tool installed on my current server, but will whack it on when I get in on Monday and have a play. Cheers Mark

Run the OWA administrator client. Go to Modify Server Features, then untick Auto Signature. I am about to go with Exclaimer so this will be useful for me too!
