Hey all,

Am new to all this exchange stuff. Am having problem connecting to an exchange server in another office using outook.

1st office has a server with exchange,
They just connect directly to server and they all get access to info_office1@mmr.ie.

2nd office has two computer out of four that have email access to the 1st office server.

I have copied the profile from working computer to new computers and it does not connect.

The setting are as follows
alphamma.mmr.local
Martin Murray Architects - Dublin

proxy setting:
outlook.mmr.ie
msstd:outlook.mm.ie

user: mmr\dublin

I have copied these exactly to the second and third computer but it just comes back with.

"""
The connection to Exchange Server is unavialable. Outlook must be online or connected to complet this auction.
Exchange server"""

Do i need to give the two other computer in the other office access to exchange? its just using the proxy settings in outlook to connect.

Can anyone help
Thanks

p.s. where is the best way of finding out how exchange works and how to configure it for two offices? its odd that it works on two computers but not the other two.

Hi,

Can you ping the servers from the two who can't reach the server. Do you use a vpn solution or do you use the http feature in Outlook ?

Hi,

Did you see any errors in the event log of the clients that connect. If you are using https please check if the certificate is trusted.

There are no specific errors and its possible to use http and https. Have tried both.

Any tutorials that you know of that could explain how to setup this?

Thanks
