I'm looking for advice on our upcoming migration. We are preparing to move production users from a regular Exchange 2007 server to a new Hosted-mode Exchange 2010 environment. I have read the whitepapers on the subject (for example, Overview - HMC to Hosted Exchange 2010 Migration Guide version 1.0, published September 2010), and I spotted this note:

Exchange Product Group researching solution in which Exchange 2010 could proxy connections back to Exchange 2007 for users who haven’t had their mailboxes migrated yet.

Since the whitepaper was written in 2010 and it is now 2012, I'm hoping that progress might have been made with proxying from Hosted 2010 back to 2007. I have messages off to our Microsoft reps asking about this, but I thought I should also pose this question to the people who really know this stuff. If any proxying could be done, it would totally revolutionize this migration. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
