Hi.

Is it possible for an external e-mail address to "post" directly into a public folder using its smtp address? What about security if I use the "Anonymous"?

1.yes it is possible for external users to mail directly to a public folder
2.what level of security is up to you

Do I have to create an object (a custom recipient for instance) in my organization or is it possible to "post" form the internet just giving to the sender the right permissions (custom? contributor). Thanks

hi
just make a public folder rightclick and put in the mailadress you want to use, mailenable the folder by rightclick and select mailenable
and then make the permissions you want for the folder

Help!
The public folder is already "mail enabled" and it has it's own smtp address. I granted the user anonymous to post into this folder (I tried with custom, author and owner rules!) but whenever I try to send somethig to the public folder address the system tell me that "The message could not be delivered because you do not have create
permissions on this folder or it is only available to folder owners at this
time"
Can anybody tell me what's wrong??

do you have any error events like Event ID 270 Event ID 290 in the event viewer

I found the way: all I have to do is to set the user "default" with the "custom" role.
But this allows everyone to mail to that public folder.
I would prefer to find a way to allow only a specified internet address to post in the public folder. Do you know the way?
