I hope this should go here insterad of the Exchange on SBS forum ...

Running SBS2003 SP2, no ISA. We have GFI MailEssentials installed as our antispam solution. IMF is off. Today a user reported she couldn't drag a message to the GFI "This is spam" public folder; she didn't have permisssions. Turns ont that, when viewing the permissions in Outlook, nobody has any permissions.

In Exchange System manager I go to {domain} Exchange | Servers | {Servername} | First Storage Group | Public Folder Store and right-click on any folder and pick "Properties ... the MMC freezes and has to be closed by Task manager. I can right click on the Public Folder store and see its properties, and the account I'm using has full control..

Or go to {domain} Exchange | Folders and click on Public Folders ... instant freeze.

Hi,

Could it be that the logged on user account does not have permissions to view the Public Folders?

I would also check for any related errors in event logs.

The account is the server administrator, the highest privleges there are. (ABE: I suspect that somehow not even the server admin has privileges ... if that's so, what do I do?)

Nothing remotely connected in the event logs.
