Perhaps someone can offer me some pointers.

My goal is to purge mailbox dumpsters either by entire database or if it comes to it individual mailboxes.

The caveat is that I'd like to specify a cut off point, eg delete everything from 1st June 2015.

The database script I'm using is
Get-Mailbox –Database “DB02” | Search-mailbox –searchdumpsteronly –searchquery “received: < $('06/01/2015')” –deletecontent –force

While there is no error displayed and the script appears to run and return results I can see no real evidence of dumpsters being purged.

The individual mailbox script I'm using is
Search-mailbox -Identity user1 –searchdumpsteronly –searchquery “received: < $('06/01/2015')” –deletecontent

Now this does find items and report back that it deleted content, however if I run this again with say a date of 2014 its still able to display that items have been deleted. I would have thought that the first command would have deleted EVERYTHING prior to that date.

So I'm somewhat puzzled with the results so far.

Anybody out there??
