Hi, I`am new to this forum, and i have little experince with exchage (about 6 monts). I have one question: Is it possible to send e-mail from Exchange 2003 without MX record? I have installed AD, Exchange and Isa, (every server is on separate hardware and platform is w2k3) and my company at the moment uses external mail server, and i want to test is everything OK before changing MX record I`am very sorry for my bad english. Thanks in advance

Hi, Yes that's possible the mx record is only used for receiving mail. To make sure other mailservers will accept traffic from your mailserver ensure that an A-record and PTR-record exist in the external DNS for the mailserver.

Hi,exchange by default it will send and recieve internaly, and send externaly, however for externaly you need to tell outside world who is your mail server by creating your public domain zone ,MX record for it... Thx
