Hi everyone, I have a question all of you that are still on Exchange 5.5. I was wondering if we had one server with Exchange SP3 and the rest are with Exchange SP4 (3 of them) would there be any cause for concerns? The reason I'm asking is that we have a third party vendor that had their product on my SMTP server with Exchange SP4 on it. It has been SP4 since the middle of 2001. All of the sudden their messaging product stops functioning and they advise us once we place a support call that they don't support SP4 because they didn't regression test it. We then rebuilt a new Exchange server with just SP3 and then installed their product back on once again. We received the same errors on the SP3 newly built server as we did with the SMTP server with SP4 once we tried to remove their product and then add it back.

Anything you can provide me would be greatly appreciated.

There should not be any major concerns, I have had that type of situation many times over the life of my 5.5 system.

Systems at SP1 and some at No SP

SP2 and SP1

Heck for a couple weeks had a SP 1 2 and 3 systems on the network.

While it will work ok and you should not have any major issues. If you start getting errors or having problems Microsoft will tell you to take it to SP4.
