Hello All,

We have Parent-Child architecture of Active Directory. We have two exchange server 2003, one in both parent and child domains. I don't have any Front End exchange server. Both exchange servers are configured for RPC over HTTP feature. The users of parent domain exchange server are able to use the RPC over HTTP feature. But users who are in child domain and mailboxes on the exchange of child domain are not able to connect using RPC over HTTP. I have followed all the steps of configuring this in the second server which are mentioned on the Microsoft site. These users when try to use this feature, they get the message that the server is unavailable. We have separate OWA SSL urls' for both the domains exchange server.

Can somebody help me in this issue.

Can I find out how is the message going out to the Internet? is it via the root or child domain?

From what you have described. I'm guessing you don't have a MX records for your child domain in the root DNS domain.

The message is going out directly from the second server to the internet. We have created a separate connector for this.

Both the servers have MX record entry in the root DNS domain

The problem is resolved. It was the certificate issue. I reconfigured different certificate for the second server and it worked fine
