A users Active Directory account was mistakenly deleted along with their mailbox. I have recreated the AD account along with a new mailbox. I am trying to reconnect the old mail box to the newly created user in order to recover the old email I right click on the old mailbox in System Manager. Another box appears asking me to select a new user to reconnect to. I recieve the following error: "An object (user or other object) with the following name cannot be found. Check the selected object types and locations for accuracy and ensure that you have typed the object name correctly or remove this object type from the selection".
I have tried with a few different users to no avail. I know that the users I am choosing do exist in AD. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

You have to create a new AD account that DOES NOT have any Exchange attributes. You then go into Exchange and find the orphaned mailbox (hopefully you haven't fallen outside of your deleted mailbox retention time) and right click, selecting Reconnect. You will then browse to the AD account and hey-presto it will be ok.
If the account has Exchange attributes you won't be able to connect another mailbox to it.

Thanks. Yeah I figured this out. As soon as I deleted the mail box of the newly created user it worked fine.
