Hello All!

Not a major catastrophy here however....
I would appreciate advise on the best (easiest) method to restore (from tape backup) certain folders in our Public folder tree. Had I known the lengths one has to go through....I would have manually made .pst backups of the critical folders.....but that in hindsight!

I thought I was dilligent with backups - I have month end complete backups for the last year (.edb and .stm files, not brick level).

I'm using a single Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server in one Win2k Active Directory forest.
One Storage Group (First Storage Group, that is!), with one Mailbox Store, one Public Folder Store....the usual scenario.

The Private and Public information stores are up and running and consistent however the data under a certain shared public folder has been partially deleted (read: user error).

I have researched the procedure for setting up a RECOVERY SERVER, and it makes me cringe!

A procedure for restoring public folder data should be simpler that mailbox data....
I would consider creating a separate Public Folder Tree/Store (possible with Exchange Enterprise?) and restore the public information store from tape backup to that new store.....but can this be done?

Does anyone have advice on the least obtrusive method for "mounting" a new public store to copy over the folders somehow?

I should know this!
