I had someone lose a phone today, so I did a remote wipe on the device through the Exchange 2003 mobile admin page. It says "Wipe Initiated" with the date, but will I ever get a confirmation it it works or fails?

How exactly does the wipe work, i.e. does the phone just need to be turned on? Or does the theif need to try to initiate an active sync on the device to start the remote wipe?

Since this phone was lost, I called Verizon and had them deactive the phone, so if it can't get a signal from it's carrier, will the remote wipe ever work?

Hiya,

The mobile device needs to Synchronize with the Exchange server using ActiveSync and only then the device would be wiped off the data......
