I was testing Exchange 2010 Server and have reformatted the server with a new server name. I realize now that I should have used the same server name and recover server option but I'm past that now.

Currently I have the following configuration
-Original Exchange 2007 server that contains all company mailboxes
-New Exchange 2010 Server that I plan to migrate to
-Non-existent Exchange 2010 server that I was testing with and have deleted.

How do I remove the remnants of the non-existent Exchange 2010 Server? I have already deleted the server using ADSI Edit but the Mailbox Database still shows up in Exchange Management Console and when I try to delete it, I get the following error.
"Error: The following operation couldn't be performed because object 'Mailbox Database 0350631075' couldn't be found on 'dc2.ei.local'.

How can I finish removing the unused server?

Even after you reformatted the hardware, you should have built a new VM to install/remove the server objects. As for the database error you're getting, you could remove this from adsi as well, but you're in an unsupported situation right now.

New server name should not have caused a problem. One can have a different server name for migration.

You can use Lepide Exchange Manager for migrating to Exchange 2010. The software can:
*Copy mailboxes from un-mounted EDB to different Exchange server on the network
*Copy offline mailbox to new Exchange server
*Extract data from Offline Mailbox, EDB or production server PST, MSG, EML formats and migrate to another Exchange Server
