Hi, Thanks a lot for your web links which gave me insight for my query including boot.ini configtn for Exch Server Roles. Now my question is Does it a product limitation on Exchange Server that not to use more than 4GB??or Is there any way to override this in order to use more RAM??? I am asking this becoz my server may contain atleast 8GB of RAM with W2k3 Ent Edition + Exchange application...Please do let me know your experiences...

hi mate, Basically, it outlines that having over 4GB of RAM in a box is potentially detrimental to performance as it takes up part of the paged pool just to address the extra RAM which you won't be using. So unless you are running multiple roles on one server (not recommended) then you should either remove the RAM phsyically, or use the following switch in boot.ini /BURNMEMORY=ammount of RAM So for a server with 8GB /BURNMEMORY=4096 This will mean the OS will not address the extra 4GB in the server. http://www.mmmug.co.uk/blogs/nweb/archive/2007/01/09/595.aspx

Exchange 2003 with more than 4gb of RAM is close to useless. I actually don't deploy Exchange 2003 with any more than 2gb of RAM, and have seen machines struggle with more. I take RAM out and see performance gains. For that number of users you should be using Exchange 2007. I hope you aren't going to try and put them all on the same server. Exchange doesn't use RAM, it needs Storage - lots of it and fast. A forum is not the right place for "Urgent" questions. If you have an urgent query call Microsoft and pay their fee. Simon.
