Hi all,

I have set up resources for equipment and rooms but can't figure out how to notify someone when something it booked.

Basically I would like USER1 to be informed when ROOM1 is booked by any user.

I've tried setting a custom rule to forward any mail onto the user and i've tried to change the delivery options to forward all mails onto USER1, both didn't work for meeting requestes that are automatically accepted.

Any ideas?

Thanks

wilde

Hi,

I think the only way is to approve the changes manually by defining delegates to the resource. See the following tutorial on MsExchange.org

Delegates is the way to do this.
How did you assign the delegate to the resource? You have to log in to the Mailbox itself using Outlook to set the delegate. You cannot do it server side.

Simon.

I have added myself as a delegate but get no notification of any meeting requests???

"You have been given the following permissions on my folders:

Calendar:             Editor (can read, create, and modify items)

                Tasks:                    None

                Inbox:                   None

                Contacts:             None

                Notes:                  None

                Journal:                None

To open folders for which you have permissions, on the File menu, point to Open, and then click Other User's Folder. For most folder types, you can also click Open a Shared <folder type> in the Navigation Pane. For example, in Calendar, in the Navigation Pane, click Open a Shared Calendar.

You will also be receiving copies of meeting requests sent to me and will be able to respond to them on my behalf.

You will be able to create and modify Meeting Workspaces on my behalf. "

Any ideas?

Do you have any auto accept scripts running on the mailbox?

Simon.

You can't have both.
It is either auto accept or a delegate.
If you have autoaccept enabled then the delegate functionality will not work.

Automatic forwarding might work, but I haven't tried that.

Simon.

I was referring to a forward on the account itself, not a rule in Outlook or Transport rules.

Simon.

I would have to conclude then that it is not possible to have notification and auto accept at the same time. One or the other.

Don't forget that if an entry is being managed by a delegate, when the entry arrives it will be marked as tentative. Therefore as long as the delegate is prompt with accepting the meetings, things should work ok.

Simon.
