Hi there,

To start of I have to tell you that I'm no Admin but a Coordinator of a Servicedesk.
So please forgive me if I'n not clear about certain things.
I know that my problem could have been prevented by pro-active management, which is some that will take place staring now.
We are running Win2K Advanced server with Exhange 2000 Standard on it.

We run into the problem that our information store reached the maximum size.
Runnin the offline defrag freed up some space, but that only lasted 3 days.
Then we installed the Microsoft patch that gave us 1GB extra so that we could do something about the problem.
We responded to late which lead to the fact that our store wasn't available at all.
Our admins installed a new server with Exchange 2000 Enterprise and started to move maiboxes from one server to the other to free up space.

After this we found out that there were problems with the backup so the only thing we could do, is fall back to a restore of the entire store of 3 days earlier.
This meant that all our users (+/- 800) were missing 3 days of mail/tasks/apointments/etc.
(there were problems with the backup so the items couldn't be restored the normal way)
After that restore one of our admins told me that it was possible to do a restore from a more recent backup, but it has to be done one by one.

But then there is such a thing as Murphy's law.

After (or even during) each restore the Backup Exec agent on the servers stops (for what reason??? I truly don't know)
this means that we are making almost no progress with retrieving at least items from the most important mailboxes.
Does anybody have an idea if it is possible to do a entire restore of the information store and access it through some kind of tool.
I supose that it would be great if we could get the information into a PST file or something like that.
Can somebody help me out.
