Hi Guys

I was wondering if anyone here can help. I have searched and searched and read through all sorts but still no luck.

I have Windows SBS 2003 server. I have been through all the tutorials to setup RPC evrything is in order. The OWA works like a dream but its the RPC over HTTP that doesn't. When I go to setup the account on the client side it asks for the username and password i enter and it gives an error stating that i make sure the server is online etc.

If I go to https://mydomain/rpc it does prompt for the username and password which means it is working, right?

I didnt have the RPC folder in my clients Outlook 2010 registry so i added it and set the value to 1 but no luck.i have tested with Outlook 2003/2007 to eliminate Outlook versiona as a problem.I am really stuck here gents. Any thoughts?

Do you have a self-issued (SBS SSL Certificate), or a 3rd party SSL Certificate?

If you are using the Self-Issued SBS cert - you will need to install it onto each and every client to make it work.

If you are using a 3rd party SSL cert, then you should be fine.

What is the name of the certificate? Something like mail.yourdomain.com?

If it is named correctly and the name resolves in DNS to the IP of your server, and the cert is installed, and you have configured outlook properly, then all should work happily.

If not - please advise accordingly.

Hi Alan

I have a 3rd Party Certificate from GeoCerts. The certificate name is sbs.nresa.com that points to the Linksys ADSL Router IP Address. In the ADSL Router there is a port forward setup to forward port 443 to the servers internal IP.
