Our exchange server uses GFI mail essentials. When an email is marked as spam it is sent to a public folder address (spam@domain.com).

Users with access can then look through that public folder and make sure there arn't any legitimate emails. I have creat 2 sub folders in the public folder to better organize the spam (Sender on Spam List, Unkown Users).

when spam comes in it all just goes into the root folder, I twice a day run an Outlook rule on my local computer to sort the emails into subfolders using there subject header.

What i want to know is if there is a way to automaticaly have the emails sorted by the exchange server? Or have my outlook automaticaly sort the spam public folder somehow.

You can run a rule on the folder.

From Outlook, open the folder's properties.

Choose Administration Tab.
Choose Folder Assistant.

Then add a rule there.

Good Luck.

wow I didnt know about that, thanks
unfortunatly it doens't look like it can do what i need. It can only do these actions:
return to sender, delete, reply with template, forward.

So i can't get it to move the email to a different folder as an action... or so it seems.

any way around this or any other ideas?

You can mail enable your sub-public folder, and forward to that folder.

That's the same as a move.

Good Luck.
