Hi,

We are ruuning SBS 2003 with Exchange 6.5 (2003) SP2.

I was under the impression that priv1.edb has a maximum size limitation of 16 GB until yesterday when through research on the forum I discovered that the private information store has a limit of 16 GB and this includes priv1.edb and priv1.stm.

What is confusing me is that our priv1.edb is 13.3 GB and Priv1.stm is 6.56 GB therefore totaling 19.86 GB thus exceeding the 16 GB limit and the store is still mounted?
I have checked in the registry for the entry used to increase the information store size and it is not present.

Event 1221 states that the mailbox store has 8332 MB of free space?
"The database "First Storage Group\Mailbox Store (SERVER)" has 8373 megabytes of free space after online defragmentation has terminated"

I have added the mailboxes together and they total 7799 MB, the free space displayed in event 1221 (8332 MB) plus the size of the mailboxes totals approximately 16 GB.  This suggest that mailboxes can grow a further 8332 MB before the information store is disconnected?

Thanks,

Chris

You are still off. Post SP2 the default limit is 18GB and you can modify the registry to take it to 75GB. That's point one.
Point two is the calculation and you were close. You add the EDB and STM then get a number. Then you take the 1221 number and subtract it from the combined STM/EDB.

Mark,

Thanks for your very helpful advise.

Therefore:

13635 + 6408 = 20043
Less free space 8332 = 11711 MB

I can now go on holiday on Friday and relax!

Chris
