Hi all, i wanted to check if my plan for migrating from mdeamon to exchange 2003 will work.

I intend to change the mx records to point to my new exchange server and set the 'Forward unresolved messages to a smart host' option in the smtp virtual server to point to the old mdeamon mail server.

As far as i can tell this will mean the Exchange server delivers mail to any mailboxes it owns and all other mail will be forwarded to the old mail server. Then i can take my time and create the users mailboxes and migrate the users from the old system to the new at my leisure.

Will this work? Or am i missing something?

Thanks for your comments
