Hi all,

Getting flooded with errors in my event log:

Source: MSExchange Transport
Category: SMTP Protocol
Event ID: 7010
Type: Error

This is an SMTP protocol log for virtual server ID 1, connection #935. The client "192.168.1.17" sent a "rcpt" command, and the SMTP server responded with "501 5.5.4 Invalid Address ". The full command sent was "rcpt TO:<>". This will probably cause the connection to fail.

-----------------------------

As far as I can tell, I am receiving this email everytime a spam email is rejected at our firewall.

Internet -> Trend Micro Virus Wall PC (192.168.1.17) -> Davinci (Exchange 2003 192.168.1.9)

I have no clue what is causing this.

Oh, and for the record... email is working fine. I can send it to my gmail account, and reply back without issue.

Upon further review, this only seems to be occurring with emails coming from null senders.

Any way of preventing null sender emails from hitting exchange?

pretty sure there is a check box withing the SMTP virtual server to only except messages for Exchange recipients or something along those lines.
