Hey
Iam going to upgrade to SP1 of Exchange 2007, but i am running 2, 2007 server do i have to upgrade them both or will SP1 work with the normal version or Exchange 2007?

hi,

I not understanding it fully.
This exchange 2007 sp1 is not like a older version service pack what we had in exchange 2003. It is almost like a new setup file.

I believe that you want to install sp1 on both servers.
> Take the backup of database, system state.
> Then install it.

Ideally all Exchange servers should be at the same patch level. While it is not practical to upgrade both at the same time, they should be done shortly after the other.

However this rule changes if you CAS servers without the Mailbox Role. Those must always be the same or HIGHER than any servers holding the mailbox role. You haven't said what roles the servers hold, but if you have separated the roles then take the above in to account.
